My Summer

I love summertime and especially summertime in Arizona. I know you are probably thinking that I am crazy because how can someone love 110+ degrees. Well, I do there is something great about walking out the door and feeling the heat hit your skin and having all that wonderful sun shining down on you. To me the best parts of summer in Arizona are swimming and being out by the pool all day and night. Eating shaved ice from Bahama Bucks. Watching the storms roll in during monsoon season, and going to the lake. Now, don't get me wrong some days are like hell, but for the majority of it I love summer in Arizona.
Here is what my summer has looked like so far...
Don't be jealous! I get to wear this sexy boot for at least another two weeks and have already been wearing it for seven weeks. I know its hard not to be envious of me and this lovely piece of foot attire. This boot is really ruining my summer as it adds probably a good 10 degrees to my body heat. Not to mention all the great looks I get from people when I'm out and about. This past weekend when I was at Costco I was offered one of the motorized shopping carts. (No I didn't take the lady up on her offer).
I tore my plantar fascia which is the band of tendons that runs along the bottom of your foot. Connecting your heel to your toes.
Both of my feet had been feeling really tight, but I had been stretching them and thought that they were fine. I was working out with my trainer doing mountain climbers (kind of a jumping lunge) when all of a sudden *POP*. I stopped and looked at my trainer and told him that my heel had popped. He thought that someone had dropped a weight near us because it was so loud. He asked if I wanted to take my shoe off and check it out. I told him no since I didn't want it to swell up and not be able to put my shoe back on., so I finished up my workout and came home and iced that baby. I went to the doctor a week later and he confirmed what I had thought. I have been in the boot for seven weeks now and have been doing physical therapy for the past three weeks.
My summer has pretty much consisted of doctor appointments, ice, physical therapy, ice, and Advil. Not really what I had planned for my summer, but hopefully only two more weeks in this horribly ugly boot. On top of that I am supposed to wear better shoes with better support aka horribly ugly shoes or gym shoes. Does the doctor not understand that gym shoes do not look good with anything other then gym clothes?
I can't wait for summer to be over!

My birthday

(THIS POST IS VERY OLD SEEING AS MY BDAY WAS IN MARCH). My birthday has come and gone way too fast. If you know me then you know that I love to celebrate my brithday for at least a week. My birthday this year was on a Monday, which sucks so I did stuff over the weekend with my friends.
Friday we went to movies in the park at the Biltmore Park. They were showing "The Seven Year Itch". After we went and ate dinner at Zinburger. It was good. I love Sam Fox's restaurants.
Saturday I went to get a pedicure and shopping with my mom. I loved that the lady remembered us and how we are mother and daughter since we look alike (see this post). My friends and I were planning on going to Pizzeria Bianco. I have never been there and dying to try it and see if it was as good as everyone says. If you have ever heard of this place you know that you will be waiting for awhile to get a seat. Let's just say that on a good night your wait is 1 -1 1/2 hours. We didn't leave on time so instead we went to another place I love Postino Wine Cafe. Its a great atmosphere and the food is amazing. If you go there you have to get the bruschetta. We were going to go rollerskating, but decided instead to see the movie "Take Me Home Tonight."
Sunday my mom made one of my favorite meals she makes lasagna and then I got to hang out with these two cuties!
Monday was birthday and I just worked and went to the gym like normal. That night we got together as a family and went to dinner at Pomo Napolitana Pizzeria. My mango and arrugala salda was divine along with the pizza. We came back to the house for gifts and cake. I got my passport, money to go on a trip, a cute jewlery box and earrings from Anthropolgie, and a hot air balloon ride (I need to call and set up my time). The next day my dad took me to finish up my passport paperwork and lunch at Red Lobster since no one else in our family likes seafood. I was spoiled rotten!

Night of Firsts

New Year's came around and me and my girlfriends were trying to decide how we were going to ring in 2011. Vegas...no to get into any good club you have to be ready to drop $100 and I don't want to spend that much. Mill Avenue here in AZ...no I don't want to get thrown up on by a random stranger. Ummm night of firsts? Yes, a night of firsts that is what we will do. We all came up with a few things that we have never done and would try to cross them off our list by the end of the night. Here are a few from my list that I came up with: Speak with a foreign accent all during dinner Buy a scratch ticket and a powerball ticket Trade money with a foreigner ie: give 1 dollar for 1 euro We ended up eating at Culinary Dropout, which none of have been to before this night. The food and atmosphere was a lot of fun. After dinner we weren't sure what to do first, so we ended up at a psychic. She told me that I am going to marry a Jew and will end up living in California. It was so funny to hear what she said to each of us. Then I went to a gas station and bought a powerball ticket and a scratch card. I ended up making my money back by winning $2 on my scratch card. I didn't end up finding anyone to trade money with, so that will have to stay on my list of firsts. The highlight of the night was a first and definitely last. We had our countdown at a single adult dance for 30+'s. When I say + I mean that there is no age limit. There were really old old people there dancing to new music. It was amazing and definitely a first and a last for me!

Overdue Update

I know I haven't updated this thing forever. I thought that I would do a quick catch up of what I have been up to these past few months. My family and I trecked up north to freezing cold Utah for Thanksgiving. I was not happy to be in the cold and away from my beautiful Arizona sunshine.
Seeing these two little monsters made the cold and lack of sunshine well worth it.
We took a family picture at Auntie Lynette's in our Christmas pajamas. The day we were planning on leaving a huge snowstorm hit. The roads were horrible, so we were forced to stay another day. In that time I learned to do this. Yep, that's right I knitted this amazing beanie.
Once I was thawed out in sunny Arizona I was packing my suitcase again to head to the happiest place on earth, also known as Disneyland. I loved being there during the Christmas season and enjoying all the decorations.
Visiting Disneyland during the Christmas season may need to become an annual tradition for me. Over the weekend we went to the Santa Monica Pier, ate at Pink's Hot Dog, and then headed to Hollywood BLVD and this little premier was happening. It was funny to watch all the paparazzi yell at the stars.
My family and I were able to meet up with my birth mom Tua and half sister Priscilla for dinner. Braden picked where we would go and guess what he chose...Hometown Buffet. This kid must be Samoan to pick a buffet over all the other perfectly good restaurants that could have been chosen. I wish that my half brother Sammy could have been there, but at least I got to see him this summer. It was fun hanging out with Tua and Pricsilla. They are so funny and we always have a good time when we're together.
A few weeks after California this fabulous foursome headed down my way for Christmas. They were here for two weeks and I wish that never left. Christmas break was filled with gingerbread house making, a hay ride and caroling with the Rohners, Temple lights, good food, and at the end family pictures.
My family and I have been truly blessed and I had an amazing Christmas. We got the kinnect for the XBOX 360 and all Christmas day we played kinnect. We had multiple dance competitions and sport competitions. Katelyn surprised our whole family with this classic beauty. That's right the old school Sega. She found it on craigslist along with two of our favorite games Aladdin and Lion King. We had an awesome rotation going from the Kinnect to the Sega. That past few months have been fun and filled with family. I couldn't ask for a better holiday season.

GLeEFuL GNO!

My mom, sisters, and I are all huge fans of the TV show Glee. If you haven't heard of this show you must live under a rock and I highly suggest that you go to hulu.com and watch episodes of this hilarious show.
The Glee cast recently held a concert here in Phoenix and we are so lucky that we were only one of four cities to get to see this spectacular concert! Their voices are amazing and it makes me love the show even more. They performed Bad Romance by Lady Gaga and I can't wait to see the Lady Gaga episode. Also the girl that plays Santana on the show got to showcase her voice and I hope they start letting her sing more on the show too because her voice is good. Here are some pictures from that night.

BloG PosT OVErlOad!

I haven't updated my blog in FOREVER so this is going to be a posting overload of what has been going on in my life. Back in February my sister Camille and her husband had their second cute lil' girl. Her name is Reese and she came into this world very fast. I was at the hospital and the doctor broke Camille's water and then within 45 minutes lil' Reesey Roo was born. I was telling Camille right before she was born that I hoped she would have tons of dark hair. I got my wish! Brynlee was so cute with her and very protective. When she finally got to see Reese and the doctor was doing his checkup on her Brynlee started to cry saying baby it was so funny to see her be so protective.

VAlentInEs DAy

My Valentine's Day was a lot of fun. My girlfriends and I had a "Sex and The City" Valentine's Day Party. We got together and were supposed to wear our pajamas and our favorite heels. We had a yummy dinner and cosmo's. Jaimee and Noelle's house was decorated so cute and it was just fun to get together enjoy each others company and watch episodes of "Sex and The City". I'm getting so excited to see the second movie. I honestly can't wait. What is better then being with friends, enjoying good food, and having amazing conversations? Nothing...to me that is honestly the best!
